This 7 min 15 sec long animation movie is built from two high resolution lunar mosaics shot during first and last quarter.

The "vessel" flights along a path at variable height and flies above well known locations on the Moon .
A space-time jump links the paths on each quarter, thus central meridian features are  seen with different lighting and points of view.

Editing such a movie requires starting from a high definition picture, for instance 4k x 4k.
For a full size Moon, a "fisheye" correction is first needed  for a better aspect of peripheral craters in 3D animation.
The flypath is drawn and  successive pictures are cropped using  translations, rotation and downsizing.
This operation can be helped by this kind of freeware.  More sophisticated softwares are available with $$$...
Preferably the size of the cropped picture would be a square 150 % the width of the final movie.
Following operations are processed using several well-known freewares until final film for publication.
The first one - important - will be applying to c
ropped pictures a perspective transformation for a 3D illusion.

The above movie is only a small size preview.

For a larger size,  you can watch it at VIMEO

For the best quality, you may want to download the full movie by clicking (right button, "Save target as ...")
